Elanders UK invests in new Electric Vivaro Van

On our continuous journey to being sustainable, Elanders have invested in an Electric Vivaro Van.  It will be predominantly used for a 20-mile round trip, taking on board the new clean air zone around Birmingham. Pollution has a damaging effect on people’s health, work and wellbeing so it is vital for Elanders to develop an impactful change in our business ventures. 

In the worldwide drive to create a sustainable society, the challenges are enormous, particularly regarding the ever-growing
global flow of goods, so finding way’s to implement positive environmental change is vital to reduce our carbon footprint while developing our ongoing operational services.  

The truck is currently being used by one of our dedicated drivers, Mark Sherwin (pictured), who was enthusiastic about the change in vehicles stating that the van was ‘Smooth to drive, especially in the city centre traffic where it also complies with the new clean air rules on the Birmingham ring road.’ 

Mark also mentioned that the van was ‘Quiet yet surprisingly powerful’ on his journey.  

With a driving range of approximately 130 miles, the van is accompanied by unique charging points located at the factory, meaning that the van is consistently charged and ready to use for a cleaner ride!
